Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center is proud to announce that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy™ Living Legend, Rod Stewart, will kick-off the inaugural Grand Gala Celebration on November 1, 2011. The much-anticipated announcement was made today by event Co-chairs Nadine Craddick of Midland and Lorraine Perryman of Odessa to a group of enthusiastic supporters in celebration of a new era in Permian Basin culture, entertainment and education.
“It’s with enormous joy and excitement that we welcome Rod Stewart to help us kick-off our inaugural Celebration series. We can’t think of a more fitting artist than Mr. Stewart to help us celebrate our dream once it becomes a reality,” said Mrs. Craddick.
The Grand Gala concert featuring Stewart will be the first in a series of special opening events to be presented at the Wagner Noël between November 1, 2011, and February 29, 2012. Each event in the Celebration series will showcase the wide-ranging capabilities of the new $81 million facility. Additional Celebration events will be announced in the months ahead to keep the public informed of each new and different show as they are scheduled at the Wagner Noël.
“The Grand Gala is just the first in a series of numerous inaugural year events that will showcase this world-class performance hall. The Wagner Noël is for the entire Permian Basin, and we want this opening series to appeal to as many people as possible,” said Mrs. Perryman.
In a career spanning five decades, with an estimated 250 million album and single sales, Rod Stewart is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and indisputably one of the most successful performers of all time. Throughout his prolific career, he’s garnered 16-Grammy nominations and remained one of the most successful live performers in the world.
Invitations to purchase tickets to the opening Gala will be delivered in September to Founders donors and contributors to the Wagner Noël paver program. Officials also indicated that while the Grand Gala will officially open the Wagner Noël, there will be a limited number of “soft opening” events that may be open to the public that will serve to train staff and prepare the facility.
The center’s paver program, which has been extended, allows individuals and companies to purchase an engraved paver stone that will be placed in front of the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. To purchase a paver stone, call 432-552-4430 Monday through Thursday or 432-262-1500 on Friday, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
