The Newest Star on the Horizon...

The Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center is the brightest star in the West Texas sky. With an exterior design that combines local themes of geology and open sky, the Wagner Noël stands nearly 10 stories tall and is visible symbol of culture, education and achievement. It will expand our cultural horizons with a wide range of community and regional events - from Broadway tours to performing Symphonies to ballet, opera, and musical concerts. The Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center thrills audiences of all ages. Come experience it!

It has been a chart topping start to 2014 for the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. Venues Today magazine has named the Wagner Noël as the #1 University Venue in the category of venues with 5,000 seats or fewer for 2013. In January, PollStar Magazine ranked the venue at #67 among the Top 100 Theatre Venues worldwide for year end 2013. Venues Today and PollStar Magazine are leading publications for the live event industry. “It’s extraordinary to see how far the venue has come in the last two years” states VP of Theatres for SMG, Bob Papke. The Wagner Noël, managed by SMG, a worldwide leader in venue management, celebrated it’s two year anniversary in November with dozens of sold out shows and some of the biggest names in entertainment. “We have been very fortunate to have performers such as Jerry Seinfeld and Tony Bennett perform at the Wagner Noël,” said General Manager, Ty Sutton “I think our audience understands how special and rare some of these performances are for our area.”

Among the many performances at the Wagner Noël are numerous University sponsored events. Each year the University of Texas of the Permian Basin Music Department hosts a number of student recitals, The University Holiday Celebration and the West Texas Guitar Festival that couples student master classes with evening performance. There is an educational component to the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center that is rarely in the spotlight but still lies within the mission of the Wagner Noël. “It’s one of our most beautiful campus facilities and one that should be enjoyed by our University of Texas of the Permian Basin students, staff and faculty,” said Dr. David Watts, UTPB President, “We are pleased with the partnership that we have with SMG and look forward to many great things still to come.”
