Matt New of Midland, Texas had all of West Texas cheering him on as he made his way to the televised rounds of NBC's The Voice this season.

Now New is taking his love for music and his newfound fame to help students feel supported through the arts by hosting a benefit concert.

The Midland and Odessa Education Foundations have created the Matt New Performing Arts Grant. 

Proceeds from the December 15th concert will be equally split between the two non-profit foundations allowing performing arts teachers to apply for funds for special projects and programs.
